I don't know if he's aware of this, but most of the time nowadays, you can get an iPhone/Galaxy/whatever on a lease from your cell phone company for a few dollars a month (I pay 8/month for my Galaxy, I know others who pay all the way up to 15 or 20/month for brand new iPhones).
By contrast, my
employer subsidized healthcare? $214/month. (I'm responsible for $95ish of that) And that's with a sizable deductible no less. If I had major health problems and knew I would need regular care (cancer, etc) I'd easily be paying double or triple that every month.
