What a great weekend for the Flames. Aves mathematically can not catch us and the Flames have a commanding lead on the 10th 7-game segment. I think the Flames have worked their way into the 2nd tier of playoff teams and are now focusing on a Pacific seed rather than a wild card. A 9-7 record will get the Flames to 94 points.
They also have the ROW advantage on every team currently in the race so it forces the teams to finish ahead of Calgary, which doesn't suck.
When you think of the records the teams below the line need to achieve to catch the Flames it tells you how close playoffs are. LA can really only afford 5 loses, WPG 3, Van 2, and DAL 1.
Considering these teams play each other down the stretch, they will be taking points from each other. I think it is almost time for that stretch drive pick'em spreadsheet.
