Everyone knows the Flames are a better team than they were at the beginning of the season. The ranking is of the current state of the teams not a year long ranking. Wideman gone alone makes us a better team.
If we were looking for an entire season ranking the standings would be the most accurate way of ranking teams.
Currently Calgary is the hottest team in the league and the hottest of any Canadian team. What happened in October and November means nothing. Why would we look at what happened 5 months ago when these teams are vastly different going into the playoffs?

Still can't win more games then they lose at 5 on 5. I just think the 5 on 5 record is the best indicator of team success for the playoffs
