I wouldn't want to lose him in the expansion draft, and I would probably protect him over Brower. But seriously, he is not a superstar and it's not like he is on the verge of a hall of fame career. I think the best case scenario for him is to have a Bourque-like career with similar streaks of goodness with other stretches of mediocrity.

Was posting regarding Ferland's hits, not his goal scoring prowess. With that being said, I do think that Ferland has more goal scoring upside than he has shown historically, and this season he is proving it. Not all players develop at the same pace, and I see Ferland as someone that is growing his game. He always had a really good shot, and he used it in scoring 47 goals in the WHL. He is starting to really round out his game this season, and who knows how much more there is? Time will tell.
He is for sure a guy you protect.
