The value is on buying low for what potential Lazar currently has left. If all he turns out to be is a low offence bottom sixer with character, a second might be a bit of an overpayment but nothing to necessarily lose sleep over (especially if the second is more like a third).
Unfortunately, acquiring Lazar is also another reminder that our other 2013 first rounders are either busting (Poirier), taking extra long to develop (Klimchuk), or not yet knocking on the NHL door (Shinkaruk).
