Treliving said at the start of this that he was going to look for people in this teams age group that aren't expiring assets. That to me basically said that Vrbata was probably not going to come here unless it was super cheap and it sounds like Phoenix set the price high on him,

The nice thing about Lazar is he's coming here with little to no pressure, this should be an easy transition for him as he's no longer Lazar the first round draft pick, he's the Lazar of little expectations. So he has a chance to go out and play basic hockey and use his speed and try to re-invent himself.

the second round draft pick, I'm not too worried about it. putting aside the whole weak draft stuff, this was an opportunity to get a guy that has first round physical skills and maybe hope for a home run or at the very least double to right field gamble to pay off.
