Pick and go is a great deterrent, as was the truck and trailer (which can no longer be used).
Alternatively, you off load prior to contact.

It is a excellent tactic if done properly and yes the Chiefs have used it before, mainly after kicks to pressure teams deep in their own half. You can stop it by pick and go as well as trying to form a ruck yourself by grabbing onto opposing players who are near the ball.
Yeah, Eddie Jones comes across as a total cry baby who is trying to make excuses for why his team didn't have a flexible game plan. I hope only beating Italy by 21 points ends up costing England the 6 Nations on point differential.
