So the only move that makes sense is one that addresses the most burning need? This move doesn't prevent them from doing that, especially considering they gave up very little. They can now play two goalies that are quality. Might not be the biggest upgrade they could make, but they just increased their chances of winning in their upcoming back to backs, regardless of whether they do upgrade the scoring or not.
I guess you could question the asset management, although they gave up very little, but they improved the club, even if it is only a little.
