If the Pens don't trade MAF and he won't waive for the expansion draft, then the Pens only option to keep Murray is to buyout MAF before the expansion draft and take ~$2 million cap hit for the next 4 years (which is pretty undesirable for a Stanley Cup contender).

Pittsburgh is in a vulnerable position with regards to moving MAF. The argument that they need to give up assets to move Fleury is a reasonable one.
You know, I completely knew that and totally forgot regarding them potentially losing Murray and not MAF. My bad. I suppose they might even be inclined to free up cap space to add elsewhere.... yeah they will need to add assets to unload him.

Here's hoping Wideman for MAF and a 2nd
