I tend to believe if the Coyotes got a downtown arena they would do fine for a US team as when they played in America West they averaged consistently over 14k per game which is about the same as what the Nordiques averaged. The difference being Phoenix is a much larger television market and a more desirable place for players and the league to be.

They have lost money every year they've been in Phoenix. The excuses have been location, lousy team and poor ownership but even when these aren't a factor they still lose money. They should have been in in S. Ontario years ago except for Bettman's ego.
