If a rusty old Iginla is what this team needs to have a successful playoffs, than we're already doomed. The only thing he can offer the Flames at this stage of his career is a marketable feel-good story. It has it's own value of course, but I just don't see big enough of a benefit to try to pursue it.
There are positions on this team that would benefit from an upgrade... I just don't think Iginla is the guy to fill them.
It would be like when Fleury tried to make a comeback. Exciting at first, but kind of sad by the end of it.
