CBC had a CT fellow on this morning. Since the LRT opened in 1981 there have been 74 deaths at or near stations (so about 2 per year on average). 66 of those were pedestrians and about 2/3 were accidental (the other third were intentional) which puts the number of pedestrians struck and killed by trains at about 44 over 36 years if I understand the article correctly. Just to put the numbers in some perspective.
