It is funny because the while been there, done that idea is from when he was the go to guy. Fact is he fit in as not the man in, say, Boston.
If a guy knows his role and brings what he can bring (and I have watched him this year and have a realistic view on his upside and limitations) then the been there, done that goes in the round bin.

Regardless, his skills have deteriorated to the point where he is a third liner at best, a slow third liner at that. We don't need a third liner, we have a plethora of guys that can play on the third line. What we need is someone to play with Gaudreau and Monahan and keep the likes of Brouwer on the third line and Chiasson on the fourth.
