He's actually been pretty solid this year. 2.48 GAA and .918 Sv% in 21 starts. That's what happens when you put an NHL calibre of defense in front of a goalie. I think he's slowly going to take over as the starter. Luongo has been good as well, but Reimer has been just as good if not better at times.
Now that the Panthers have figured out how to score goals again, they look pretty damn good. Looking for their 5th straight road win. Since that rough road trip through the West in January where they got 2 out of a possible 8 points, they've lost just 1 game to the Kings...and it came after their bye week. They're 7-1-0 in that stretch, beating the following teams.
Tampa Bay
Ottawa
Anaheim x2
Nashville
San Jose
L.A.
Just 1 team outside of the playoff picture. The rest were tough opponents. It took a long time to recover after Gallant was fired, and there were some key injuries as well, but it looks like they're back on track to where they were last year when they won the division. Thankfully their division is weak otherwise they'd have no shot at the playoffs.
1-0 after one in St. Louis. Go Panthers!
