Remember the trade deadline scene from Moneyball? Billy Beane offered a player to a rival to take them out of the bidding for the player he really wanted to trade for. It was like watching a canny old carny running the shell game.
Philly is three points out of a wildcard spot, 10 days before the trade deadline. GMs in such situations are liable to do crazy things. Maybe Treliving is doing some extra homework on them so he can try to take advantage when the crazy happens.
