At one point he did say that the media would never show how large the crowd was, because MEDIA.
Then, at about the same time the camera was panning over the crowd, he said "the crowd goes all the way back to the fence!" and of course you could see the fence, and there wasn't anyone within 200 meters of it.
I don't know if that was a big crowd for this kind of weird rally, but he was flat-out lying to the people in the building who only had to turn around to know it was bull$hit. I doubt many did, because they are smart, but it was funny.
