Wow! Those Gretzky stats are simply incredible. I'm having a "I'm old and reflecting back at what I've seen" moment.

Unbelievably, Gretzky had TWO Thousand points in 857 games. Mario took 513 game to get 1000 points. Crosby took 757 for his first thousand. Ovechkin took 880, Sedin took 1213 games.

For Gretzky to get points 1001-2000 faster than Mario got 1-1000 is completely astounding.

Back in the day, I should've spent more time admiring Gretzky than hating him for being an Oiler. I remember fear everytime he got the puck, even if it happened to be behind his own icing line. It was "Oh no, they're going score". Hated the Oilers then as much now, and it blanketed my Great One experience too!
