The Crosby situation is not relatable whatsoever. Crosby is already the finish product, a supreme hockey player. Johnny, Monahan, and Bennett are still developing. Johnny is in his 3rd year of professional hockey. He was bound to go through a slump or 2. Give it time and stop overreacting. Johnny has to adjust his game and you can already tell he is trying to. Teams are trying to make him uncomfortable and have played him enough to know his tendencies. He will figure it out and he will figure out how to produce under GG. Like I said before he's too damn skilled no to.

All of them having 'growing pains' at the same time? I don't buy it. Also, Gaudreau didn't seem to have any at tye WC...
Every rule has its exceptions.
Backlund has always been a good player, he was just unlucky with injuries. Now that he's healthy, he's put it all together.
Frolik was always this good.
As for Hamilton, he was taking massive improvemet under Hartley as well.
Comparison to Crosby is more than fair. It shows that a bad coach can affect even the best player in the world. So, it's easy to assume that Gulutzan is the reason why our star players are underperforming.
