The players have to certainly take some ownership on this, its not just the coach. There have been too many games where the effort can be kindly described as incomplete.
At that level where players are making a lot of money, there has to be a high amount of self motivation. Coaches shouldn't have to stand up at the start of every game and make the whole win one for the gipper speeches.
If there's a failure its that they decided that after apparently the team basically told management that they hated Bob because he was a task master that they bring in a player coach, and there are too many nights where the players aren't putting in the work.
GG should probably find a way to crack the whip, but its difficult to do in this day and age of guaranteed contracts and no movement contracts and waivers.
The Flames can keep firing coaches which is stupid because we laughed at the oilers for their core running that team. So the question is, does this Flames core run the team?
I've been really unhappy with Johnny this year, he just doesn't seem to have that puck determination, maybe its due to his hand, or maybe this locker room isn't close, but he has to be a lot better.
But at the end of the day, they can't fire another coach, they can't reward the core for failures that have to fall on them.
