Hmmm, I was raised Catholic and never heard that other Christians don't consider Catholics as Christians. Since "Christian" only means "followers of Christ", I don't see how they can deny it. The problem many non-Catholics have with Catholicism is the idea of the "Trinity", and the veneration of the Virgin Mary. Some people who do not understand the concepts feel that Catholicism in not monotheist.
Like Agamenon brings up it depends on who you ask. I was in Toronto on business the same time "World Youth Day" hit and the place was literally crawling with Catholics everywhere. Lots of self discussion on them being Christians..

On the flip side, I asked my evangelical Christian friends (I'd rank them a good 8.0 on the church-o-meter) if they considered Catholics to be Christian. Might as well of asked if Gretzky played for the Flames. "They just CAN'T be" was their reply... I think the belief in the Pope was worked in somehow as to the reason.... Like I said, I don't understand the reasons, but that's the way it is....

Although you bring up a good question.... if they're all followers of Christ (they being Baptists, Protestants, Catholics, Episcopalians, Republicans, Anglicans, Unitarians, Orthodox, etc etc) why the great divides between them all?

(As a side note, the Polish Contingent brought their hottest girls out for World Youth Day. Although I thought it was surefire bad Karma to hit on them though.... )
