I agree with most of what you said. He has been a disappointment so far and I think he would be the first to say so. I think he's been noticeably better over the past 10 games or so and if he plays that way the rest of the year I have no issue with him. He needs to make up for his lack of point production with nasty, mean, face washing play.
The bolded part of your statement. Who do you envision filling this role? Looking at UFA right wingers is pretty sad. TJ Oshie and Radulov are probably the best of the bunch but I think both will resign with their respective clubs. It's really easy to say $4m is better spent else where, but on who?
