Justin Schultz got a 3rd last deadline (50% retained mind you), and Wideman is at least comparable defensively, plus he actually has some playoff experience. Schultz had 10 points in 45 games and was a -22 (worst on the grease of all teams). Wideman has 16 points in 49 games and is only -2 on a team where there are multiple players at -10 or worse.

He is still a very capable puck mover when he's not in his own end, and if he would stop trying to break everyone's shin pads he might actually be an asset in the o-zone.

I expect Wideman @50% to fetch at least a 4th, given his already high salary, but I wouldn't be surprised at all if Treliving used his wizard powers and got a 2nd out of him.
