Sooner or later a business decision to go along with a hockey decision will need to occur. Given where the min. salary cap is and the fact that you need to spend more than that to remain competitive over the long term, a long term arena solution will need to be found.

As it stands now and perhaps even with a split of revenues from a Suns/Yotes arena deal in downtown, the Coyotes need to be able to have a large enough revenue stream to actually be able to sustain a team. This charade has continued on for long enough and it isn't viable long term.

I understand a lot of the reasons why the current arrangement doesn't work for the Coyotes or the city of Glendale but sometimes the economics just aren't there.

If they can move to a facility where the fan base can easily go to games, will the team be able to attract 17 000+ a night paying a decent priced tickets? What will corporate sponsorship look like? What will the local tv rights look like when they come up for renewal? Is any of the above sustainable with a consistent cap at $65+ million? Say what you want but the teams performance needs to improve dramatically and stay strong and that entails dollars that I am not sure current ownership may want to spend.

Interesting times but we should know much more about the viability of this market REALLY quickly
