Some of the goalie targets people have in mind are probably not feasible - at least not until the season is over. A contender is not going to be worried about the expansion draft until then. They are not going to weaken their chances (with a risk of ruining them completely if the starter goes down) for anything less than an extreme over-payment. Imagine the fallout if the starter goes down and results in a first round exit for one of the contenders, all for the sake of a 2nd round pick or something.
The only exception would probably be MAF simply because the Pens are willing to do him a solid apparently. Young and up-and-coming goalies on teams out of the race are fair game, but not solid up-and-coming goalies on contending teams. I am sure that in the off-season their prices will drop dramatically, but you can be sure that they would cost a substantial premium until then.
