Soccer and Hockey are more fluidic and dynamic in terms of transitioning from offense to defense, I'm okay with the sudden death aspects there. A better comparable for Football is Baseball, which does in fact give both teams a chance to score in Extra Innings. Just my opinion though, always felt that it's 10x easier to score in OT than to defend given the pressure of the situation, and most of the time it feels like the coin flip determines the winner
