I haven't seen a choke job like that since well November when the Stamps performed their annual playoff choke. Not taking away anything from the Patriots but to come back from being down 28-3 with only 1/3 of the game remaining a lot of things have to go your way and the other team will have to melt down. When the Pats failed that desperation onside kick all the Falcons had to do was get one first down and kick the FG. Instead Ryan takes a big sack (seriously he's going to look at the tape after this one and wonder why he kept holding on to the ball so long rather than throwing it away when no receivers were open) and they lose yardage on the series. Then of course the series that will haunt the organization forever where all they had to do was run the ball three times while taking a few minutes off the clock and kick the FG for the Super Bowl victory. Instead silliness ensues and who knows when the Falcons will ever even get back to the Super Bowl let alone win one. For all the hype Shanahan has received over the season he really blew it trying to pass the ball at that stage of the game. Inexcusable mistake IMO.
