As for how nice the City is... Sure NJ and Det arent the the nicest... You can likely group Winnipeg and Edmonton in there... But There are a lot of nice cities in the NHL.

Sure the Flames have a history of going after UFA's, but they have some pretty big holes to fill and to commit $5m+ to Alzner over at least 5 years.. Its a bit of a hope, not a plan..

With that said, lets get back to the city Angle that you brought up.

Lets say Dallas, LA, Philly, Carolina, Van and Calgary all offer Alzner $5.5m over 6 years. You think the Flames have the edge in winning the bid?

There is the Hitmen connection, but I dont know.. He is from Burnaby..
