A good start is to not show a hint of support to people who have bigoted views. People look past Trumps bigoted ways for whatever individual ideal he has they support. People vote politicians because they like their fiscal side and can ignore their bigoted social side. They support their church or religion because most of what they do is good to them, even if the religion has a few despicable views. Celebrities who beat their wives, but hey they make good music, so you look past it.
So make a stand. Stop offering a shred of support for any of these people/institutions, despite whatever good they offer. There are always alternatives. It may not seem like much, but it is a start, takes almost no effort, and if enough people do it, it will make a difference.
