Many players that succeed in the transition from AHL to NHL don't do so straight from training camp. They have extended stays in the NHL before becoming ultimately successful and sticking. If you want examples, see guys like Nyquist and Toffoli.
If the Flames want Jankowski to be on the big team next year, and believe he will be good enough, then I believe he should be up here for atleast 10 games or so to acclimate at this level. Then let him come into camp next year and show that he is ready for the NHL.
I have no insight into what the Flames project as their roster for next year but if he is considered in their plans, this would make sense to me.
What is your suggestion for handling someone that is starting to look like our best forward prospect?
