I disagree with almost all of the generalities people try to make. In the big scheme of things, the two countries are incredibly similar and there are so many, many bigger factors that will affect your life than which of the two countries you live in.

Would you consider yourself middle class or higher? Below that is where the monumental differences between the two countries start to show themselves. If you've got good money in the States then it's more similar to Canada, for sure. Being white is huge, too.
