Hardest part about adding a younger defenseman to the team for a long term is that we're likely to already have the 3 defenseman (Gio, Brodie, Hamilton) protected. Without starting the debate again about whether Gio should/could be exposed, I doubt that Treliving is ready to add prior to the expansion unless it was a forward.
