This same team played worse under Hartley last year but fans were more forgiving because it was more fun to watch. It does feel like if our GM is "old school" we're coming up on a firing or a shake up trade but that never really happens anymore right?

It wasn't just because it was more fun to watch. The 'atrocious' goaltending was seen as a legitimate reason last season. For me, it was a solid stretch of around 120 games or so before last season where this team played really hard and seemed to have an identity. It made it at least plausible that it was a hiccup last year.
Gulutzan doesn't have that track record on the Flames, or even in the NHL as a coach, so people are less likely to believe this bad stretch is a hiccup.
