It did replace an existing KFC so there is a base level of need for fried chicken in the area. I also think chicken has a wider base audience than things like donuts and burgers, especially in the NE area. Fast food sales also go up in times of economic recession as that becomes the "eating out" for a family instead of more expensive restaurants. I think it will stay relatively popular for some time.
