I wouldn't be shocked if ownership actually has an expanded role in mind for Treliving, which is why he doesn't have a new contract yet. I highly doubt they get rid of him with the history of his moves since his arrival, unless there's something unrelated to the job he has done as GM of the Flames which demands that he be removed.
This is a smart ownership group, and removing Treliving after such a small window of opportunity, along with his body of work (on paper) seems uncharacteristic.
