If you have two good players on two lines and an AHLer as the third guy, you make it really easy for the defense of the opposition. Key in on the two guys that are good and ignore the bad player.
It would almost be better to overload a line by moving Bennett or Gaudreau over to RW and have those two + Monahan on the same line instead of spreading the players out.
The Flames desperately need two top 9 forwards.
Unfortunately, there is no easy way to get them during the season because the cost is too high.

I've mentioned this before i think this is a myth.
Let's look at the top 5 teams in GF in the league - Pittsburgh, Rangers, Columbus, Washington and Minnesota.
Rust, Sheary, Guentzel in top 6 for Pittsburgh.
Buchnevich, Krieder and Zuccarello for Rangers.
Foligno, Dubinsky and Jenner for the Jackets.
Johansen and Williams for the Caps.
Coyle, Zucker2and Niedereiter for the Wild.
The cap doesn't allow teams to stack lines anymore. You just have to find a mix that works.
