I understand that sometimes star players have bad seasons, but when the majority of your best players are having bad years (all but Hamilton, Backlunch and Frolik), then some blame needs to fall on the coach.

I curse the day we didn't even bother to call Boudreau.
I have to agree that this is on Gulutzan. This was a must needed win against a team directly chasing the Flames at a available WC spot, and not only are the Flames not prepared, but the team isn't getting better as the season progresses. There's no longer an excuse for new season, missed training camp, etc. The guys should be in mid-season shape and have had 40+ practices and 40+ games.

If you ask any manager what's more important, a rookie coach, or 5 struggling core roster players, which group should get the ax? Hopefully this is the last season the Flames employ Gulutzan.
