It's embarrassing the amount of abuse he's allowed to take - right in front of the officials - with no calls on blatant penalties.
I didn't see him do anything wrong last night except get slashed on the hand several times, tripped 2/3 times, high sticked and cross-checked in the numbers.
The amount of abuse he takes that isn't called far outweighs any embellishing / complaining on his part.

He is getting abused a lot, there's no doubt about it. But he has a choice on what to do about it, he can let it get under his skin or he can use it. Honestly one of the best things I saw out of Gaudreau last night was when he got crosschecked in the corner and instead of looking to the ref he just started crosschecking back. Pretty hard too, almost like he was challenging the ref to call him after not calling it against him. That intensity was good to see and using the fire from being taken advantage of.
The refs need to start getting this right, but if they don't there isn't an option for him. It's either let it get to him or fight through it and use it. I think last night he took a big step in just saying "F it, lets go!" and I thought he had a good night because of it, even if he didn't hit the scoreboard.
