This team is so much better than 2014. The results haven't been noticeably different, but they're going the direction that all teams serious about a real playoff run have to go. Another year and this team could make a serious run at the cup if all goes well. I don't know what you were expecting.

Yeah I just don't share your optimism here. I don't think this team is remotely close to being a cup contender. Johnson has been great as a short term fix but until the goaltending situation gets sorted out I'm not convinced the playoffs are going to be in the picture for a while. Sooner or later the Jets will fire Maurice and once that happens I expect they will ascend. The Oilers seem to have at least taken the step to being a team in the mix for a bottom seed. I look at the Flames roster and I just don't see the skill in the forward ranks to match those two teams.
