Importing pharmaceuticals from Canada is the stupidest, most ignorant liberal idea I've heard in a long time. Yes, we need to fix drug prices in this country, because sadly, Big Pharma needs to make all of its profits from the USA, since drugs are so heavily regulated elsewhere. Sorry, but that's a fact. And if you want to cut drug profits to 0, you'll never get another science based medication ever.
Here's the inane ignorance of those of you pushing for Canada drugs:
1. Canada does not have independent manufacturing of drugs. They are almost all imported, mostly from the USA.
2. Canada negotiates with Big Pharma to set prices for a capped amount of drugs. This is a complex negotiation where the Health Ministry must estimate the amount of a particular drug will be purchased by its citizens.
3. Canada is not negotiating for the ####ing United States.
So what happens? First, American purchases of Canadian pharmaceuticals will cause Canada to hit its caps for drugs. That will cause their prices to ####ing skyrocket? I know you liberal Americans are quite selfish, so you want us to buy Canadian drugs so that their citizens will be charged more? Or can't afford the prices when they skyrocket?
Since Canada is actually run by intelligent liberals, as opposed to ours, they will block Americans from buying it. They're going to protect their citizens not some lazy liberals from America who couldn't be bothered to vote for Clinton and get things done right.
There is no way that Canada would allow Americans to buy its drugs, except in very small ways. All they have to do is demand that Americans have a Canadian prescription (so you'll have to pay for a Canadian doctor), and then charge a huge export tax for anyone with a US Passport buying Canadian drugs.
I'm sick and tired of stupid liberals. Going after Cory Booker, who actually has a pair of steel balls compared to all other Democrats, makes no sense to me.
