THE BIG RIG! (sorry who?...oh Maroon...I wouldn't have known not being a regular Oil watcher..) then Moneyhands! Oh sorry - Monahan, right. No need for monikers this time. At least gave due diligence to Elliott at the end, which was deserved.
They tried to balance it, but it didn't work because it would be an Oiler homer-slanted comment followed by an obligatory neutral comment ("both goalies are having to come up with big saves!" - oddly at times when the Flames were the only ones actually testing the goalie - "important game for both teams!" a number of times, etc). Just ended up like a orange and blue broadcast with occasional unenthusiastic equal bone tosses to both teams. And Cassie was getting off on McDavid despite him not doing anything on most of his plays.
It's expected and hardly surprising nowadays, but perhaps the media folk can see why it's a bit annoying during a coast to coast broadcast streaming to all fans across the country, who tuned in to witness the revamped BoA, not the Oilers versus team Kazahkstan (Calgary Flames). You know, maybe a transplanted fan on the east coast wants to get their kid into the home team and would welcome hearing some excitement about the Johnny Gaudreaus and Sean Monahans too?
Bleh, it's the same stuff. End of the day even broadcasters will inevitably fanboy/girl. I like calling them out though cause it's often hilariously egregious, if you're listening for it.

This is absolutely, 100% false.
- Kypreos had a small segment discussing how much better the Flames defence were than the Oilers.
- the broadcast discussed, on multiple occasions, what an incredible season Backlund is having.
- Gaudreau was always mentioned in the same breath as McDavid, even though McDavid is having the better season
- in Overtime, Randorf gets noticeably excited when Gaudreau had the puck, saying "this guy can end it here", even though nothing was really happening on the play.
It gets tiresome when half the comments before, during and after a Flames vs (insert any Canadian team) game are like this. Yes, to have a balanced broadcast, you need to also praise the other team.
