As an Engineer, I deal with this stupid stuff all the time. A tank or concrete reservoir manufactured in Canada pre-metric is in imperial gallons. Pumps are bought off Americans and rated in US gallons per minutes. However, they both just say gallons. It drives me nuts and I've had to fix more than one spreadsheet over this.
