I don't like writing out if it seems sudden and out of place with the story. Perhaps write her role into one of lesser significance and recast with some of the massive pool of talent out there in that age range? Maybe she could have a new costume that partially hides her face/features? it could be pulled off without being too glaring. Some people see old ladies and think most of them look the same anyways. The voice and expressions will be key.
