Focusing on kids is only part of the solution. The focus should be on the family. How come so many more parents these days don't know what their kids are up to? 10-15 years ago when I was a teenager, my parents knew what I was doing, and who I was hanging out with. This seems to be less and less the case these days - less focus on the family and more focus on the $$$ and material goods seem to be what is driving people, not being proud of their families.
