When has being in Toronto helped anyone? The Columbus Blue Jackets have more NHL awards than Toronto since they came into the NHL. The last award a Leaf won was Doug Gilmour and Pat Burns in 1993. CUJO and Belfour put up amazing goalie numbers on a contender for 6 straight seasons and never won a Vezina.
And D and goaltending aren't harder positions. And with his injury, Murray is out of contention.
Matthews is without a doubt the best overall rookie.
