I'm very happy that the world juniors were played in Europe that year. If they were played on NA ice I think Tkachuk and Matthews almost double their production resulting in Tkachuk going higher. Obviously Tkachuk is much better suited for the NHL than Jesse, it's so blatantly obvious. One embraces the grind and is a supreme competitor, the other throws temper tantrums, and obviously is struggling with the speed and size of NHL players. Playing on European ice at the WJ is never seen as a detriment to North American players but it is.
