Personally I like Page all time. Just stylistically, his stuff works for me. I don't know, there are people who are obviously great guitarists but if the songs aren't good, then what's the point? I think the songwriting is more important than "shredding". Guys like Jo Satriani or whatever have never done anything for me. I'd take Jack White or Cobain over him any day. Even Clapton..great guitarist..but his music does very little for me.
A suprisingly good guitarist is John Mayer..again, not a fan of his music, but I acknowledge he has mad skills.
