To me the most drastic change is smoking in public. Now when I walk outside and someone is smoking I almost hold my breath while walking by because it bothers me. I remember in the mid-90's working at a place where there was this greasy, fat dude that would always finish his lunch first at the lunch table and start smoking while the rest of us were eating. His favorite saying was; "would you mind not eating while I smoke". Just disgusting but in those days totally normal for a person to be exhaling smoke in your direction while you were eating or talking, etc. There were guys that smoked all day at work in their cubicles and the roof above them would have a big yellow circle. It was more common to be around 2nd hand smoke than clean air and that was only 20 years ago.
