When the north/south netting came into play in the NHL after the tragedy in Columbus I actually couldn't believe they were implementing it. Now after all these years I was just thinking about how absolutely insane it is that we used to have thousands of fans sitting right in front of 70 - 100MPH slap shots that were a minor deflection away from zooming right at peoples heads.
And fans happily sat in these seats. Does that not seem crazy to think about now a days?
