I see nothing in Ellott's game that says he's a #1 goalie, I thought I'd give him some time before coming out and saying anything about him. Seems to me he can't make that glorious save to keep his team in it, and quite often puts his team in a hole. At the beginning of the year I also gave him a bit of a break because the defense wasn't coming together (again). Elliot is at best a #1 with a good team, and a reliable backup goalie with an average team. Ryan Miller should be first star with a .957 save percentage in the game. The Flames out shot the Canucks by a wide margin 46-13, BUT they blocked 26 shots as compared to 6 for the Flames!
Markus Granlund is turning out to be one great 2 way center, however I don't think I'd put him ahead of Monahan, Bennett (another early bad penalty), or Backlund. I'd DEFINITELY have him ahead of Stajan. Sven Baertchi was a threat with no points.
Wotherspoon had an off night, gave away pucks. I'd need a few more games to evaluate his play, he's still playing better than Hamilton did at the start of the year.
