Case in point: Iginla. Arguably the best player in the game just before the Crosby era (Linden said he was anyway) with just that kind of "will to win" rep. He did carry a mediocre team to the finals once, with more than a huge assist from Kipper. But despite his talent and his compete level, he never repeated that success, even with better teams on paper.
